There are few Yellowstone publishers as surprising as O. E. Bendix of Chicago. Out of his offices at 52 North State Street, Bendix produced mainly views of Sweden with a set of as many as 60 views of rural & city scenery. These included Swedish text. He also put out a set of "Picturesque America" views. It is not known if these had a relationaship with the set of the same name put out by the Gates Brothers. His only known Chicago view is a scene in Lincoln Park. There is also some confusion over his intials. He is listed as "O. E." while the photo below appears to show him as "D. E.".
His only known Yellowstone view is this view of Liberty Cap at Mammoth. There is a possibility that he merely owned the view, rather than published it.
