A. J. DUSSEAU
Butte City, Montana Territory

This rare Montana photographer is probably Angelo J. Dusseau of Butte. Little is known of his operation, which was operational during the 1880s. His studios were located over the Post Office in Butte City at the corner of Main and Granite Streets, opposite the Centennial Hotel. It appears, that for a time he was partnered with a man named Thompson. Several photographs and stereoviews exist with the imprint "Dusseau & Thompson." Later his work shows up in Helena, and still later in Havre and Ft. Assinaboine.

P ictured below is his only known Yellowstone image showing unidentified men at Upper Geyser Basin.
